4. WOOT!
Woot is an Amazon subsidiary based in the suburb of Carrollton, Texas. Its main website generally offers only one discounted product each day, often a piece of computer hardware or an electronic gadget. Other Woot sites offer daily deals for t-shirts, wine, children’s items, household goods, and two other sites that offer various items. The product is sold until its stock runs out, or until it’s replaced by another product at midnight. What makes Woot so great is that it offers some of the best discounts on the web. It’s Black Friday all year long!
5. MOOFi
Moofi (or Woot! upside down) is similar to Woot, only better. It is a relatively new woot site launched in 2010 which, unlike Woot, can have several deals running at the same time until they sell out. Each page has a special ID in the url so if you try going to just http://moofi.woot.com/, you end up at woot.com. The best way to find these moofi sites are to search woot’s deals site on the following link: http://deals.woot.com/deals/tagged/moofi
This is what Woot says about Moofi: You know Woot as the site that sells one product per day, cheap. But this isn’t exactly Woot. This is a special super-secret page we set up to get our family and friends off our backs about these things (hi mom!); we’re tired of entering manual orders. Your order here will be processed and shipped like any other order with Woot. Yes, you can sneak your lowlife pals in, but make sure they follow the dress code.
6. Price History
Always try to use an Amazon price tracker to see the price history of a product. This will save you a ton of money as it allows you to find out whether what you believe might be a good deal is really a good one or not. Just do a search for “amazon price history” and you will find multiple sites that will tell you how a specific item has been priced over time on Amazon. You’d be surprised how much prices can fluctuate up and down over time. If you don’t need it immediately, it might be worth holding out for a better price if there is a history of periodic price dips.
Even after buying, continue to watch for price adjustments and double check the return policy. It’s difficult to do get Amazon to refund the difference if a price drops dramatically, but not impossible. Also, make note who you are buying from exactly, because you’re often buying from other sellers, not Amazon.
